Where it begun
Her Story Matters was founded in 2011 to amplify the voices of women whose stories were going untold. As conversations around women in leadership, community, and public life gained momentum, a gap remained between the stories being told and the stories that needed to be heard.
Over the years, the platform, the community, and its reach grew, and so did the understanding of what the work was really about.
How the Work Evolved
Fifteen years in the rooms where decisions are made, sitting across from the people who make them. Telling their stories with care and depth taught us something important: the gap we had identified was bigger than we first understood, extending beyond women’s stories to leadership itself.
The leaders, policymakers, and changemakers operating at the highest levels of institutional and social impact rarely have their full story told. That is the gap Her Story Matters now exists to fill.
